Shared Practices Group is hiring a Surgical Dental Assistant in Virginia to join a dynamic team focused on dentures and implants. You will support doctors, assist in a range of surgical procedures, and manage back-office operations in a fast-paced practice.

Qualifications

• Review patient histories, vital signs, document meds and alerts; notify the doctor of concerns.
• Set up and break down operatory equipment; maintain charting per standards.
• Chairside assistance for surgical and dental procedures.
• Capture CBCT and panoramic images accurately.
• Educate patients on procedures and pre/postoperative instructions.
• Sterilize instruments and maintain infection control.
• Manage clinical inventory and supplies.
• Support front desk staff when needed.
• Maintain readiness and follow chairside protocols.
• Oversee basic maintenance of office equipment.

Responsibilities

• Review patient medical histories, obtain vital signs, document medications and alerts, notifying the doctor of concerns promptly.
• Set up and break down operatory equipment; ensure timely charting in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Assist the doctor chairside during a wide range of surgical and dental procedures.
• Capture high-quality CBCT and panoramic images with accuracy.
• Educate patients on procedures, prescribed medications, and pre/post-operative instructions.
• Clean and sterilize instruments and maintain treatment rooms according to infection control protocols.
• Monitor and manage clinical inventory, ensuring supplies are stocked and organized.
• Provide support to front desk staff as needed, fostering a collaborative team environment.
• Maintain procedural readiness by anticipating clinical needs and following chairside assisting protocols.
• Oversee basic maintenance and troubleshooting of office equipment.
