Job summary

Shared Practices Group is seeking a surgical dental assistant with 1–2 years of relevant experience and a passion for procedural care. This role supports the doctor, assists in a busy surgical practice, and helps organize the back office, workflows, and sterile room setup to ensure optimal patient care.

The successful candidate will collaborate with clinical and administrative teams, provide direct support to the doctor and dental lab operations, and uphold high standards of infection control

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a surgical dental setting.
• Strong teamwork attitude and reliability.
• Proficient in CBCT/panoramic imaging and dental terminology.
• Experience with inventory management and supply ordering.

Responsibilities

• Review patient medical histories and vital signs, document medications and conditions, and alert the doctor as needed.
• Set up and break down operatory equipment and charting to support efficient clinical schedules.
• Assist the doctor chairside during surgical and dental procedures.
• Capture CBCT and panoramic images with accuracy.
• Educate patients on procedures, medications, and pre-/post-operative instructions.
• Sterilize instruments and maintain treatment rooms per infection control protocols.
• Monitor clinical inventory and ensure supplies are stocked.
• Provide support to front desk staff as needed to foster teamwork.
• Maintain chairside readiness and follow assisting protocols.
• Oversee basic maintenance of office equipment to ensure smooth daily operations.
