You will coordinate procedures with hospitals, secure authorizations, and act as the primary patient contact, ensuring smooth scheduling and compliant care.

The role requires strong organizational, communication, and EMR proficiency, with experience in orthopedics or spine preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Surgical Coordinator, preferably in orthopedics or spine.
• Strong knowledge of surgical scheduling, prior authorizations, and insurance verification.
• Familiarity with orthopedic and spine surgical terminology and procedures.
• Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent communication and patient-facing interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a high-volume clinical environment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule surgical procedures with hospitals, surgery centers, and surgical teams.
• Obtain prior authorizations and insurance pre-certifications for surgical cases.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for patients throughout the surgical scheduling process.
• Communicate with surgeons, OR staff, and facility personnel to confirm case details and logistics.
• Prepare and distribute surgical preference cards, operative reports, and pre-op instructions.
• Verify patient insurance benefits and coordinate financial clearance prior to procedures.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records within the EMR system.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and orthopedic/spine surgical protocols.
