Qualifications

• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) required.
• Certified Orthopaedic Surgery Coder (COSC) certification preferred.
• CIRCC (Certified Interventional Radiology Cardiovascular Coder) certification preferred.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience performing ICD-10 and CPT code assignments in a health care setting.

Responsibilities

• Assigns ICD-10-CM and CPT codes for patients.
• Assigns modifiers for all patients to ensure reimbursement and data quality.
• Complies with coding guidelines for multi-specialty practices and complex coding.
• Attends seminars/workshops for coding updates.
• Escalates issues to Coding Supervisor/Manager as needed.
• Meets productivity and quality standards.
• Keeps confidentiality of patient care and business matters.
