Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking a Clinic Coordinator to organize daily clinic operations, support providers and patients, and supervise clinical staff. The role includes scheduling, ensuring medical necessity, and mentoring Medical Assistants to uphold safety, quality, service, and innovation in patient care.

The position emphasizes clinic leadership, workflow optimization, and collaboration with management to maintain policies and improve patient outcomes within a non-exempt setting.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Five years as a Senior/Advanced Medical Assistant.
• Two years leadership experience preferably in health care.
• One year Training experience preferred.
• BLS Basic Life Support or Instructor (AHA).
• Medical Assistant Certification CMA/NCCT/NHA/AAMA/RMA/CCMA required.
• Preferred: CPT – Certified Phlebotomy Technician (ACA).

Responsibilities

• Coordinates patient flow and prepares patients for provider visits.
• Organizes daily schedules and provides coverage to meet patient needs.
• Assists with triage, prescriptions, refills, and referrals; mentors colleagues.
• Works with clinic management to assess processes and conducts staff meetings.
