Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of operative surgical specialties.

• Ability to remove skin staples and wound drains.
• Aseptic techniques for materials, supplies and equipment.
• Anticipate and respond to Physician needs; assist in intraoperative tasks.

Responsibilities

• Participates in preparatory steps of surgery and room setup.
• Assists operating team with supplies, positioning and draping.
• Maintains sterile field and sterile technique throughout procedures.
• Ensures equipment functionality and reports issues.
• Trains Surgical Technologists and new Surgical Assistants as needed.
• May perform validated competencies under direct supervision.
