Advocate Health's Aurora West Allis Medical Center is seeking a Surgical Technologist/Assistant for our Surgery Department. This role supports the operating team by preparing the room, gathering supplies, and assisting with patient positioning to ensure smooth procedures.

Candidates should have advanced surgical knowledge, aseptic technique mastery, and a Surgical Technology program. BLS certification is required, with ongoing credentialing expectations.

Qualifications

• Advanced training beyond high school with a surgical technology program.
• Typically requires 3 years of experience in a Surgical Technologist or Surgical Assistant position.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ongoing certification as listed in the role.
• Knowledge of aseptic techniques and operative procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room and assist the team with supplies and patient positioning.
• Ensure required supplies are available and anticipate surgeon needs.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and sterile surgical environment using aseptic techniques.
• Assist in training Surgical Technologists and new Surgical Assistants.
• Perform validated competencies under supervision and assist with patient care as directed.
