Beacon Oral Specialists in Honolulu, HI is seeking a Surgical Assistant I to join our growing practice. You will support the surgeon during consultations and procedures, perform basic lab duties, and ensure sterile instrument handling and room readiness.

The role requires strong organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks, and excellent patient communication. On-site position with standard clinic hours and opportunities for hands-on growth within the company.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Current CPR/BLS certification required.
• Dental X-ray license (Pano, PA, CBCT) required.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to provide excellent patient care, even under stress.
• Consistent professionalism in appearance and attitude.

Responsibilities

• Assist Surgeon during consultations and treatment.
• Basic lab duties (Impressions, pouring up/trimming models).
• Instrument cleaning per infection control & biohazard protocols.
• Autoclave operation and function.
• Surgical tray setup.
• Identify instruments used in the clinic.
• Room setup/breakdown for IV anesthesia and surgery.
• Seat patient and perform pre-op setup.
• Review charts.
• Nitrous oxide setup.
• Position restraints.
• Support airway for sedated patients.
• Circulate and retrieve instruments.
• Provide excellent patient care and communication.
