Beacon Oral Specialists is seeking a Surgical Assistant I in Whittier, CA. You will support surgeons during consultations and procedures, perform basic lab duties, and ensure infection control and proper instrument handling in a fast-paced oral surgery setting.

The role requires strong organization, excellent patient care, and the ability to maintain composure under pressure. On-site work, Monday–Friday, with comprehensive benefits and steady career growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Current CPR/BLS certification required.
• Dental X-ray license (Pano, PA, CBCT) required.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to provide excellent patient care, even under stressful circumstances.
• Professional appearance and attitude expected.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeon during consultations and treatment.
• Basic lab duties (impressions, models).
• Infection control and biohazard protocol compliance.
• Autoclave operation and function.
• Surgical tray setup.
• Identify instruments used in the clinic.
• Room setup/breakdown for IV anesthesia and surgery.
• Seat patient and pre-op setup.
• Review charts.
• Nitrous oxide setup.
• Position restraints properly.
• Support airway for sedated patients.
• Circulate and retrieve instruments.
• Provide excellent patient care and communication.
• Restock supplies and rooms.
• Take vital signs.
• Familiar with forms and handouts.
• OSHA compliance awareness.
• Administrative tasks: scheduling, filing, charting.
• Follow up calls to patients.
• May take X-Rays.
• Open/close the office daily.
• Greet patients and make them comfortable.
