Job summary

Beacon Oral Specialists is seeking a Surgical Assistant I to join our Sugar Hill, GA practice. You will support the surgeon during consultations and procedures, manage basic lab duties, and ensure proper instrument handling and infection control.

This full-time on-site role requires CPR/BLS, a dental X-ray license, excellent organizational and communication skills, and a professional demeanor. You’ll work Monday through Friday with standard hours, contributing to patient care and office

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CPR/BLS certification required.
• Dental X-ray license (Pano, PA, CBCT) required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Great organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to provide excellent patient care, even under stressful circumstances.
• Consistent professionalism in appearance and attitude.

Responsibilities

• Assist Surgeon during consultations and treatment.
• Basic lab duties (Impressions, pouring up/trimming models).
• Proper instrument cleaning in accordance with infection control and biohazard protocols
• Autoclave operation and function
• Surgical tray set‑up
• Identification of instruments used in the clinic.
• Room set up/break down for IV anesthesia and surgery.
• Seat patient and perform pre‑op set‑up.
• Review charts.
• Nitrous oxide set‑up.
• Properly positioning restraints.
• Support airway for sedated patients.
• Ability to circulate and retrieve instruments.
• Excellent patient care & communication.
• Restock supplies, forms, handouts, and rooms.
• Take vital signs.
• Familiar with all forms and handouts (procedure‑based, consent forms, etc.)
• Aware of and in compliance with OSHA requirements
• Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, filing, and charting.
• Make follow up phone calls to patients.
• May take X‑Rays.
• Properly closing and opening the office each day
• Greet patients and make them feel comfortable.
