Job summary

Beacon Oral Specialists in Irvine, CA is seeking a Surgical Assistant I to join our growing practice. You will support the surgeon during consultations and procedures, perform basic lab tasks, and ensure strict infection control.

The role requires strong organization and a patient-focused approach. Schedule includes Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 7:00am-4:00pm; Friday 7:00am-1:00pm with some Wednesdays occasionally.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current CPR/BLS certification required or obtainable after hire.
• Dental X-ray license (Pano, PA, CBCT) required or obtainable after hire.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Assist the surgeon during consultations and treatment.
• Perform basic lab duties (Impressions, pouring/trimming models).
• Handle instrument cleaning per infection control and biohazard protocols.
• Operate autoclave and manage sterilization.
• Set up surgical trays and room for IV anesthesia and surgery.
• Review charts and prep patient for procedures.
• Assist with nitrous oxide setup and patient positioning.
• Circulate and retrieve instruments as needed; provide excellent patient care.
