Beacon Oral Specialists in Suwanee, GA is seeking a Surgical Assistant I to join our growing practice. You will support the surgeon, handle basic lab duties, and ensure instrument sterilization and room readiness to deliver excellent patient care in a fast-paced setting.

Ideal candidates are highly organized, have strong communication skills, and are able to assist with anesthesia setup and chart reviews while maintaining OSHA compliance and patient comfort throughout procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Current CPR/BLS certification required.
• Dental X-ray license (Pano, PA, CBCT) required.
• Surgical Assistant program completion preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist Surgeon during consultations and treatment.
• Basic lab duties (Impressions, pouring up/trimming models).
• Proper instrument cleaning in accordance with infection control and biohazard protocols.
• Autoclave operation and function.
• Surgical tray set-up.
• Identification of instruments used in the clinic.
• Room set up/break down for IV anesthesia and surgery.
• Seat patient and perform pre-op set-up.
• Review charts.
• Nitrous oxide set-up.
• Properly positioning restraints.
• Support airway for sedated patients.
• Ability to circulate and retrieve instruments.
• Excellent patient care & communication.
• Restock supplies, forms, handouts, and rooms.
• Take vital signs.
• Familiar with all forms and handouts.
• OSHA compliance awareness.
• Administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, filing, and charting.
• Follow up phone calls to patients.
• May take X-Rays.
