Responsibilities

• Identifies patient with unit nurse prior to transportation to the Operating Room and uses AIDET in communications with patients, families and visitors.
• Assists with preparing and maintaining equipment and supplies for transportation of patients to the operating room.
• Maintains sterile environment and follows aseptic technique during procedures.
• Transports contaminated and sterile instruments to and from patient care areas safely.
• Supports OR team and participates in unit staff meetings and safety initiatives.
