Job summary

Mercy Gilbert Medical Center, part of Dignity Health, is seeking a Surgical Technician to prepare the operating room and assist the surgical team across a range of procedures.

Qualifications

• High school completion is required.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Minimum of four (4) years clinical experience as a surgical technologist.

Responsibilities

• Assists circulating nurses in set up of surgical procedure according to physician preference, standards of care and hospital protocol
• Handles laboratory specimens according to hospital protocol, maintaining hospital standard of zero tolerance for mishandled specimens
• Assists the Surgeon during procedures as requested
• Retrieves necessary equipment and supplies
• Assists in patient/equipment preparation
• Performs follow-up actions as directed
