Job summary

Mercy Medical Center Redding is seeking a Perioperative Support Tech to ensure a safe, sterile and efficient operating room environment. You will inventory, disassemble, clean, reassemble, and maintain OR equipment, transport patients, and support case preparation under standard precautions.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, one year of perioperative technician experience, and BLS/CPR certification; central sterile processing training is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required or equivalent work experience.
• CPR/BLS certification required (through American Heart Association).
• Preferred: Central sterile/instrument-processing training or certificate.

Responsibilities

• Inventory, disassemble, clean, reassemble and maintain OR equipment.
• Transport patients to and from the OR and assist in case preparation.
• Maintain a clean and safe perioperative environment according to Standard Precautions.
• Support sterilization processes and operating room turnover per protocol.
• Assist in stocking OR rooms and arranging positioning devices as needed.
