Job summary

Mercy Medical Center Merced is seeking an Anesthesia Aide to support anesthesia services and equipment in Surgical Services. You will ensure readiness and proper functioning of anesthesia machines, prepare supplies, and assist anesthesiologists and nurses to maintain patient safety during procedures.

The role involves caring for patients across all ages, from neonatal to geriatric, handling routine maintenance, calibration, and sterilization, and participating in department meetings.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience in a surgical environment.
• Experience with anesthesia machines, equipment and procedures.
• Anesthesia Tech training or equivalent on the job training.
• Will be required to take call shifts as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Ensure proper function of anesthesia equipment in Operating Rooms, including daily inspection and calibration of anesthesia machines and routine maintenance/repair.
• Maintain and clean anesthesia equipment, instruments, supplies, and storage areas; anticipate needs from the surgery schedule.
• Assist anesthesiologists and nurses during procedures and support patient care across all ages.
• Disinfect and sterilize anesthesia-related equipment and participate in ongoing equipment and supply management.
