Job summary

UCI Health, Orange County's premier academic health system, seeks a patient registration specialist to register patients, verify funding sources, and schedule surgeries. Qualifications

Experience with computer registration and registration scheduling system.
General understanding of medical terminology.
Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
Demonstrated experience using MS Office.
Ability to travel to off-site physician practices.
Minimum one year recent experience registering patients in a hospital or clinic within past two years.
Knowledge of ICD9 and CPT codes.
Ability to maintain a professional customer service approach.

Responsibilities

Register patients and obtain necessary authorizations for services.
Verify patient has a source of funding to cover services.
Schedule patients for surgery.
Respond to patient inquiries and resolve any identified issues.
