Job summary

UCI Health is looking for a detail-oriented registrar to obtain authorizations, verify funding sources, and schedule patients for surgical procedures. The role requires clear communication with patients and medical staff and the ability to handle inquiries promptly.

The candidate should have experience with registration systems, basic medical terminology, and a working knowledge of MS Office. Some travel to off-site practices may be required, and weekend/evening shifts could be necessary.

Qualifications

• Requires excellent written and verbal communication in English.
• Demonstrates customer service skills appropriate to the job.
• Is able to travel to off-site physician practices when needed.
• Must have basic understanding of medical terminology.
• Familiarity with ICD9 and CPT codes is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Obtain authorizations and verify funding for services.
• Schedule patients for surgery and coordinate with clinical teams.
• Respond to patient inquiries and resolve issues.
• Maintain relationships across the health system and ensure accurate data entry.
