Qualifications

• ICD9 and CPT knowledge is required or preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.
• Ability to travel to off-site physician practices.
• Ability to work weekends, holidays, and evenings.
• Ability to interpret various medical insurance plans and determine coverage.
• Familiarity with hospital registration workflows is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Schedule clinic patients for surgery and diagnostic procedures.
• Ensure all necessary paperwork is completed and forwarded to appropriate departments.
• Determine funding source coverage and inquire about expiration dates.
• Obtain surgery/procedure date and time based on physician availability and OR schedule.
• Communicate with patients to obtain demographic and financial data.
• Provide accurate wait time estimates when available.
• Act as liaison between admissions, departments and operating room.
• Notify departments and patients if surgery date/time is rescheduled.
