OSF HealthCare is seeking a Surgery Support Specialist to care for surgical patients and their families. The role includes transporting patients, managing supplies, and maintaining the surgical environment with proper cleaning and room preparation of equipment and supplies.
Qualified candidates have a high school diploma or GED and at least 6 months in a customer service role or team environment, plus experience with computers and phones and strong interpersonal skills.

Expected pay for this position is $17.66 - $19.63/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is an Hourly position.
POSITION SUMMARY: The Surgery Support Specialist provides care for surgical patients and family, interacting and communicating effectively. They are responsible for the transportation of patients, along with the supply management and environmental care functions in the department. This includes departmental cleaning and preparing the surgery room with equipment and supplies; in addition interacts and communicates with surgical patients and their families.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience: Patient Care experience in health care environment Licensure/Certifications: American Heart Association CPR/Basic Life Support (BLS) Other skills/Knowledge: Completion of medical terminology class.
