Job summary

Rochester General Health System seeks a Surgery Coordinator to coordinate scheduling and maintain surgical services across the system. This full-time, days position runs Monday–Friday, 8am–4pm in SCHI Brighton/Ambulatory in the Podiatry department.

You will communicate with patients, obtain codes for pre-certification, coordinate with physicians and billing, enter surgeries in the EMR, and support the care team to ensure accurate scheduling and billing.

Qualifications

• Three plus years of relevant healthcare experience preferred.
• Strong analytical, computer, organizational, customer service and communication skills.
• For the transportation departments, knowledge of IDX and CCS is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate scheduling with patients and providers, delivering a cheerful and helpful attitude.
• Obtain surgical procedure and diagnosis codes to authorize/pre-certify surgery.
• Coordinate with billing for pricing for out-of-network and self-pay patients.
• Enter each surgery into the EMR and maintain OR schedules and related records.
• Act as regional liaison for RRH affiliates and regional sites needing help coordinating procedures.
• Verify add-on cases and ensure surgeries are billed accurately.
