Job summary

Intermountain Health Cedar City Hospital is seeking a competent PSR/ scheduling specialist to manage provider surgery calendars, obtain required authorizations, and coordinate pre-operative activities. The role requires experience in medical billing, scheduling, and working knowledge of EMR systems.

You will liaise with physicians, hospital staff, and insurance providers to ensure timely case processing, accurate CPT/ICD coding, and smooth patient navigation through the pre-operative phase.

Qualifications

• Two years of medical registration, billing, collection, scheduling, or insurance experience.
• Two years of customer service experience.
• Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and calendaring programs.

Responsibilities

• Creates and manages provider’s surgery/hospital procedure schedules and follow ups.
• Obtains authorization for surgeries/hospital procedures and coordinates referrals.
• Proposes iCentra requirements to create pre-surgical FIN# and scheduling cards for hospital staff.
• Coordinates surgical/procedure equipment with hospital staff and nursing.
• Meets with surgery/procedure patients to explain the process and coordinate pre-op requirements.
• Document cost estimations and investigate billing disputes related to surgery/procedure.
