Job summary

The US Oncology Network at Texas Oncology in Dallas Sammons is seeking a Surgery Support Coordinator for a full-time, weekday schedule (8am–5pm). You will handle internal surgery scheduling, pre-operative testing, insurance authorization, and documentation, working closely with physicians and OR staff to ensure smooth patient care.

Ideal candidates have 0–5 years in surgical scheduling, strong communication skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 0-2 years of surgical practice/office work experience including insurance authorization, verification and scheduling.
• Knowledge of medical and surgical terminology.
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with ability to multitask.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate and promote continuity of care.
• Review patient medications and health history and coordinate pre-operative clearance testing.
• Obtain insurance authorization and pre-certification with proper CPT/ICD-10 codes.
• Coordinate, schedule, and authorize pre-operative clearance testing and imaging.
• Serve as patient advocate and liaison between patient, payor, office and facility.
• Ensure surgical reports and related documents are filed in chart.
• Sequence and prioritize multiple provider inputs.
