Job summary

Adventist Health in Saint Helena, CA is seeking an experienced Scheduler to coordinate surgeries and follow-up appointments under physician direction. You will interact with patients, physicians, and staff to provide accurate, timely information within and outside clinics and facilities.

The role involves verifying insurance, scheduling OR use, and preparing admission and pre-admission processes. Per diem, day shift, with opportunities for additional incentives where applicable.

Qualifications

• High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred.
• Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred.
• Medical Assistant certification: Preferred.
• CPR certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AH policy: Preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedules patients for surgery and completes necessary paperwork for surgery facilities.
• Verifies patient insurance coverage and determines whether surgical referrals or authorizations are needed.
• Answers calls, takes referrals, transmits messages, and files patient records.
• Monitors operating room availability and ensures up-to-date computer/office equipment knowledge.
• Prepares daily and monthly reports and schedules OR time and pre-admission visits.
• Coordinates with departments to ensure accurate patient billing and schedules nursing staff.
