Michigan Outpatient Surgical Solutions is seeking a Surgery Scheduler to manage scheduling for pediatric, adult and geriatric patients and assist with insurance verification. The role emphasizes precise communication and adherence to OR timing and staffing constraints.

The candidate should have at least 1 year of surgery scheduling or medical office experience, with strong planning, confidentiality, and multitasking abilities to ensure efficient, high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ years of experience in surgery scheduling and/or medical office.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Excellent planning and organizational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Excellent telephone etiquette.
• Thorough knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Schedules all surgical procedures.
• Obtains and enters information for OR time.
• Communicates with OR Director/Administrator on block time.
• Allows adequate time for each procedure and room turnover.
• Prepares and distributes the schedule; proofreads for accuracy.
• Contacts surgeon offices two days prior to schedules.
• Cross-trains in front desk areas including Insurance Verification.
