Michigan Outpatient Surgical Solutions is seeking a Surgery Scheduler to organize and schedule surgeries for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients. The role involves coordinating with surgeons, verifying information for OR time, and maintaining a smooth daily schedule.

The Scheduler must have strong communication, planning, and multitasking abilities, plus comprehensive medical terminology knowledge to support efficient patient care.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• 1+ years of experience in surgery scheduling and/or medical office.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Excellent planning and organizational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Excellent telephone etiquette.
• Thorough knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Schedules all surgical procedures.
• Obtains and enters information for OR time requests.
• Communicates with OR Director/Administrator regarding block time.
• Prepares and distributes the schedule.
• Contacts surgeon offices to confirm times and procedures.
• Cross-trains in front desk areas (Switchboard, Insurance Verification, Check-in).
• Keeps department managers informed of changes affecting schedule.
