Job summary

GI Alliance in Louisiana is seeking a skilled surgery scheduler to support pre-op and post-op planning within our clinical team. You will review instructions with patients, coordinate with outside facilities, schedule consent visits, and request cardiac clearances when needed.

The role requires familiarity with surgery consent forms, meds knowledge, and strong communication. You will also assist in the clinic, handle EMR tasks, and maintain meticulous records in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a RN/LPN program.
• At least 2 years work history as a surgery scheduler or in a clinical or surgical setting.
• Currently licensed and in good standing (or eligible to be by state date) by Louisiana State Board of Nursing.
• Eligible (no prohibitions) for credentialing under Medicare, Medicaid and Commercial insurance programs.
• Pass basic background check for criminal history, OIG, etc.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent customer service skills are required.
• Experience working in a medical office.
• Ability to multi-task and work in fast-paced environment.
• Detail-oriented.
• Basic understanding of healthcare plans.
• Be able to read and understand medical benefits.
• Bilingual is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Candidates will be responsible to review pre-op and post-op instructions with patients, coordinating with outside facilities, scheduling patient appointments to sign consents and requesting cardiac clearances when warranted. Candidates will also assist in the clinic setting when available.
• Candidates must be familiar with completing surgery consent forms and possess a strong knowledge of medications.
