Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of three years in office, clerical, healthcare scheduling, or related experience.
• Previous surgical scheduling or healthcare scheduling experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and coordinate surgical procedures, diagnostic testing, and related services.
• Recommend surgery dates and times to providers while ensuring OR utilization.
• Maintain knowledge of surgical procedures, physician preferences, equipment needs, and scheduling requirements.
• Ensure surgical cases are scheduled accurately within guidelines and timeframes.
• Prepare and maintain reports, schedules, and patient documentation related to procedures.
• Utilize scheduling and healthcare information systems to manage appointments and patient information.
• Review future OR schedules and collaborate with physicians to maximize resources.
• Coordinate surgery pre-certifications and obtain insurance approvals.
