Qualifications

• One year scheduling experience in a surgery center or medical office.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience with EMR systems and medical terminology helpful.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Adheres to HIPAA and patient confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Schedule office, surgery center and hospital-based procedures with appropriate provider and time/location slot.
• Pre-authorize surgeries with insurers and enter information into scheduling system.
• Maintain a surgical log for statistical analysis.
• Provide pre-surgical packets to patients with dates and pre-operative instructions.
• Coordinate with surgical facilities for special equipment or personnel.
• Ensure pre-operative labs are ordered, tracked, and scanned into the EMR.
• Verify scheduling accuracy before publishing schedules.
• Interface with surgery centers and hospital staff to ensure cohesive patient care.
