Job summary

Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital is seeking a Part-time Surgery Scheduler to join the Operating Room team. This role schedules surgeries, coordinates with physicians and departments, and assists in maintaining an efficient OR schedule. The position requires a high school diploma or GED and about one year of healthcare customer service experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 1 year of health care customer service experience.
• Experience in scheduling or patient registration is a plus.

Responsibilities

• M-F 0800-1630 as a Surgery Scheduler, schedule surgeries and coordinate with physicians and departments.
• Coordinate scheduling of procedures between physicians, OR time, anesthesia, and related services.
• Notify providers of schedule changes and adjust as needed to maximize room and equipment use.
• Process patient charges based on procedure type, length, and supplies.
• Print and distribute future OR schedules to appropriate areas.
• Answer and triage incoming calls; serve as resource to providers and staff.
• Operate office equipment and assist with inventory and supply orders.
