Job summary

Medical City Ambulatory Surgery Center in Dallas, part of the HCA Healthcare family, is seeking a Surgery Scheduler to manage surgical appointments and maintain the daily operating room schedule. You will work closely with physicians, anesthesia staff, and medical records to ensure accurate documentation and timely notifications.

The role requires at least one year in a medical office setting with preference for scheduling experience; strong communication and organizational skills are essential

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of experience in a medical office setting.
• 1 year of Medical Scheduling highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain CPT and ICD-10 codes and other clinical information as required by the physician’s office.
• Prepare documentation for Notification of Non-covered Medicare Services or Advance Beneficiary notices to patients and notify physician’s offices about these procedures.
• Complete chart requests from Medical Records and notify the Materials Manager/Nurse Manager of any physician requests or special equipment needed for upcoming surgeries/procedures.
• Determine the duration needed for surgeries in the operating room and work with OR nurse to ensure a daily schedule is streamlined.
• Maintain the center block schedule list and arrange necessary anesthesia coverage.
• Call/fax physician’s offices to notify them of any open schedule times that may allow for additional cases to be taken at the center
