Job summary

HCA Healthcare, Inc. is seeking a Scheduler for a surgery center to schedule patient procedures and maintain the surgery schedule. You will work to align with the mission and values of the organization and support efficient operating room scheduling.

The role involves obtaining codes, coordinating with physicians, and ensuring appropriate documentation and anesthesia coverage to optimize daily operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of experience in a medical office setting.
• 1 year of Medical Scheduling highly preferred

Responsibilities

• Obtain CPT and ICD-10 codes and other clinical information as required by the physician’s office.
• Prepare documentation for Medicare non-coverage notices and advance beneficiary notices to patients and notify physician offices.
• Complete chart requests from Medical Records and inform Materials Manager/Nurse Manager of special equipment needs.
• Determine surgical durations with OR staff to streamline daily schedules.
• Maintain center block schedule and arrange anesthesia coverage as needed.
• Call/fax physician offices to notify of open times for additional cases.
