Job summary

Michigan Medicine is seeking a dedicated Surgery Scheduler to manage the end-to-end scheduling process for surgeries across University of Michigan sites. You will coordinate dates, ensure authorizations, and maintain accurate MiChart records while delivering excellent patient service.

The role requires at least one year of scheduling experience, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of one year of surgery scheduler experience in clinical setting.
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and good judgment.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills under deadline pressure.

Responsibilities

• Schedule surgeries aligning with patient needs, surgeon availability, and facility calendars.
• Organize and secure surgery dates; coordinate pre- and post-operative appointments and tests.
• Manage and monitor surgical schedules in MiChart; adjust for changes in status or emergencies.
• Communicate with Call Center to handle scheduling inquiries and triage to nursing staff.
