Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of one year scheduling experience in a surgery center or medical office.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and coding and HIPAA regulations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Schedule office, surgery center and hospital procedures with physician and location in the scheduling system.
• Pre-authorize surgeries with insurance and manage pre-certifications.
• Maintain surgical logs for statistics and provide pre-operative instructions to patients.
• Coordinate with surgical facilities for equipment and personnel needs.
• Verify pre-operative labs and ensure documentation is properly scanned into the EMR.
• Audit daily phone system changes and ensure accurate call schedules.
• Ensure accuracy of all schedules before publication and maintain patient confidentiality.
