Job summary

Trinity Health IHA Medical Group is seeking a patient-focused Surgery Scheduler to be the first point of contact for patients and to support providers by scheduling surgical procedures and related meetings, enabling exceptional patient care.

The role involves scheduling procedures, obtaining insurance authorizations, managing consent forms, confirming and rescheduling appointments, maintaining provider schedule templates, assisting with billing and MyChart, and upholding accurate patient records

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent training.
• Minimum experience: 1 year as a Surgery Scheduler or equivalent experience with medical reception functions.

Description

Trinity Health IHA Medical Group is looking for a customer-focused Surgery Scheduler to join our team. In this role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing support to providers by scheduling surgical procedures and meetings while helping create exceptional patient care.

What You'll Do

• Schedule surgical procedures, testing, and pre-op appointments.
• Obtains insurance authorizations and oversees the management of consent forms for surgical procedures.
• Schedule, confirm, and reschedule appointments.
• Oversees Provider schedule templates and inputs monthly schedules.
• Collect payments and support accurate billing processes.
• Assist with patient communications, paperwork, and MyChart support.
• Maintain patient records and support day-to-day office operations.

General Requirements

• EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent training. Demonstrated proficiency performing all Medical Reception core functions.
• CREDENTIALS/LICENSURE: None
• MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 1 year of experience as a Surgery Scheduler or equivalent training, or demonstrated proficient performing all Medical Reception core functions (check in, check out and phones) of equivalent combination of experience, education and training.
