Job summary

Trinity Health IHA Medical Group is seeking a patient-focused Surgery Scheduler to join our team in Brighton, MI. You will be the first point of contact for patients, scheduling surgical procedures and related appointments while supporting providers to ensure smooth care delivery.

Responsibilities include obtaining insurance authorizations, managing consent forms, coordinating schedules, handling payments, and providing MyChart assistance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; proficient in Medical Reception core functions.
• 1 year of experience as Surgery Scheduler or equivalent training; or equivalent combo.

Description

Trinity Health IHA Medical Group is looking for a customer-focused Surgery Scheduler to join our team. In this role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing support to providers by scheduling surgical procedures and meetings while helping create exceptional patient care.

What You'll Do

• Schedule surgical procedures, testing, and pre-op appointments.
• Obtains insurance authorizations and oversees the management of consent forms for surgical procedures.
• Schedule, confirm, and reschedule appointments.
• Oversees Provider schedule templates and inputs monthly schedules.
• Collect payments and support accurate billing processes.
• Assist with patient communications, paperwork, and MyChart support.

General Requirements

• EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent training. Demonstrated proficiency performing all Medical Reception core functions.
• CREDENTIALS/LICENSURE: None
• MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 1 year of experience as a Surgery Scheduler or equivalent training, or demonstrated proficient performing all Medical Reception core functions (check in, check out and phones) of equivalent combination of experience, education and training.
