Job summary

Duly Health and Care is seeking a Surgery Scheduler for Elmhurst MOB on a full-time basis. The role requires coordinating pre-op testing, confirming schedules, and serving as the communication hub between internal staff and facilities.

Expect travel to Naperville as needed and a patient-centered approach. You will verify insurance, manage scheduling workflows, and ensure confidentiality while supporting billing and operations.

Qualifications

• Medical terminology used in scheduling and patient communication.
• CPT and ICD-9 coding knowledge for procedure coding.
• Referral process understanding for routing to specialists.
• Ability to learn new computer programs and scheduling systems.
• Professional conduct toward patients, physicians and staff.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong time management skills to meet scheduling deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients in a friendly manner, in person or on the phone.
• Coordinate pre-op testing and insurance verification.
• Serve as single point of contact for staff and facilities regarding scheduled procedures.
• Schedule and reschedule pre-op labs and testing as needed.
• Contact patients to confirm procedures and explain prep instructions.
• Prepare paperwork for referral coordinators and facilities.
• Verify daily doctor schedules and distribute to staff.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and assist billing with charges.
• Cover for co-workers as needed and track case volume per management direction.

Verify patient personal and insurance information - coordinate pre-op testing per insurance.Single point-of-contact for internal staff and external inquiries for all scheduled procedures.Schedule and/or reschedule pre-op lab and/or other testing before procedures and surgeries if necessary.Contact patient to confirm procedure/surgery.Explain and verify proper prep instructions with patients, route to nurse if appropriate.Prepare all essential paperwork for referral coordinator and facilities.Verify daily doctor's schedules, print and distribute to appropriate personnel.Maintain the strictest patient confidentiality.Work with billing staff to ensure all procedures are charged.Cover/fill-in for co-workers as needed.Track case volume and direct cases to facilities per direction of management teamQualificationsMedical terminology, verbal and written.CPT and ICD-9 coding.Referral process.Must have the ability to learn new computer programs.Act professionally towards customers, physicians, and co-workers.Must be able to multitask and prioritize.Must posses time management skills.High school diploma or GED2+ years prior surgery scheduling, telephone, computer and customer service experience.The compensation for this role includes a base pay range of $16.30-24.50/hour, with the actual pay determined by factors such as skills, experience, education, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. Additional compensation may be available through shift differentials, bonuses, and other incentives.
