Job summary

Duly Health and Care in Naperville is seeking a Surgery Scheduler to join a physician-led team focused on high-quality, coordinated care. You will be the go-to contact for scheduling procedures, coordinating pre-op testing, and ensuring accurate patient information and communication with facilities.

Responsibilities include greeting patients, maintaining confidentiality, collaborating with clinicians, and supporting billing.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years in surgery scheduling, telephone, computer and customer service.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and CPT/ICD-9 coding.
• Ability to learn new computer programs and multitask effectively.
• Professional demeanor with patients, physicians and staff.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and provide friendly, professional service.
• Coordinate with physicians and scheduling staff at facilities.
• Verify patient information and insurance; coordinate pre-op testing.
• Serve as main contact for internal staff and external inquiries.
• Schedule/pre-op testing and confirm procedures with patients.
• Explain prep instructions and route to the nurse as needed.
• Prepare referral paperwork and verify daily schedules for distribution.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and assist billing with charges.
• Cover for coworkers when needed and track case volume.

Surgery Scheduler

Position Highlights:

• Naperville - Springbrook Square clinic
• Full-Time, 40 hours
• Hours: Monday - Friday; 8:00am-5:00pm
• Travel: Required to travel to other sites as needed

Responsibilities

• Greet patients in a friendly manner whether on the phone or in person.
• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal physicians and with scheduling staff at facilities.
• Verify patient personal and insurance information - coordinate pre-op testing per insurance.
• Single point-of-contact for internal staff and external inquiries for all scheduled procedures.
• Schedule and/or reschedule pre-op lab and/or other testing before procedures and surgeries if necessary.
• Contact patient to confirm procedure/surgery.
• Explain and verify proper prep instructions with patients, route to nurse if appropriate.
• Prepare all essential paperwork for referral coordinator and facilities.
• Verify daily doctor's schedules, print and distribute to appropriate personnel.
• Maintain the strictest patient confidentiality.
• Work with billing staff to ensure all procedures are charged.
• Cover/fill-in for co-workers as needed.
• Track case volume and direct cases to facilities per direction of management team

Qualifications

• Medical terminology, verbal and written.
• CPT and ICD-9 coding.
• Referral process.
• Must have the ability to learn new computer programs.
• Act professionally towards customers, physicians, and co-workers.
• Must be able to multitask and prioritize.
• Must posses time management skills.
• High school diploma or GED
• 2+ years prior surgery scheduling, telephone, computer and customer service experience.

The compensation for this role includes a base pay range of $16.30-24.50/hour, with the actual pay determined by factors such as skills, experience, education, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. Additional compensation may be available through shift differentials, bonuses, and other incentives. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package.
