Job summary

Midwest Physicians Administrative Services, LLC dba Duly Health and Care is seeking a Surgery Scheduler for Elmhurst MOB. The role is full-time, 40 hours weekly with Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm, and travel to Naperville as needed.

You will greet patients, verify information, coordinate pre-op testing, and act as the main contact for scheduling procedures while maintaining confidentiality and collaborating with physicians and facilities.

Qualifications

• Medical terminology knowledge is required and CPT/ICD-9 coding familiarity is preferred.
• Ability to learn new computer programs and scheduling systems quickly.
• Professional conduct toward patients, physicians, and coworkers is essential.
• Must multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients warmly in person or on the phone and coordinate scheduling.
• Maintain effective relationships with internal physicians and scheduling staff.
• Verify patient information and coordinate pre-op testing per insurance.
• Serve as single point-of-contact for inquiries about scheduled procedures.
• Schedule or reschedule pre-op lab and testing as needed.
• Confirm procedures with patients and explain prep instructions.
• Prepare paperwork for referral coordinators and facilities.
• Verify daily doctor schedules and distribute to staff.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and assist billing to ensure proper charges.
• Fill in for coworkers as needed and track case volume.

Overview

Surgery Scheduler Position Highlights: Elmhurst MOB Full-Time, 40 hours. Hours: Monday - Friday; 8:00am-5:00pm. Travel: Required to travel to Naperville as needed.

Responsibilities

Greet patients in a friendly manner whether on the phone or in person. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal physicians and with scheduling staff at facilities. Verify patient personal and insurance information -- coordinate pre-op testing per insurance. Single point-of-contact for internal staff and external inquiries for all scheduled procedures. Schedule and/or reschedule pre-op lab and/or other testing before procedures and surgeries if necessary. Contact patient to confirm procedure/surgery. Explain and verify proper prep instructions with patients, route to nurse if appropriate. Prepare all essential paperwork for referral coordinator and facilities. Verify daily doctor's schedules, print and distribute to appropriate personnel. Maintain the strictest patient confidentiality. Work with billing staff to ensure all procedures are charged. Cover/fill-in for co-workers as needed. Track case volume and direct cases to facilities per direction of management team.

Qualifications

Medical terminology, verbal and written. CPT and ICD-9 coding. Referral process. Must have the ability to learn new computer programs. Act professionally towards customers, physicians, and co-workers. Must be able to multitask and prioritize. Must posses time management skills. High school diploma or GED 2+ years prior surgery scheduling, telephone, computer and customer service experience.

Compensation

The compensation for this role includes a base pay range of $16.30-24.50/hour, with the actual pay determined by factors such as skills, experience, education, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. Additional compensation may be available through shift differentials, bonuses, and other incentives. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package.
