Job summary

Duly Health and Care in Elmhurst, IL is seeking a Surgery Scheduler to join a physician-led team and support streamlined patient care across pre-op activities.

You will greet patients, coordinate pre-op testing and insurance verification, and act as the main contact for staff and facilities. The role is full-time, 40 hours weekly, with occasional travel to Naperville and standard daytime hours.

Qualifications

• Medical terminology knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients in person or by phone.
• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal physicians and scheduling staff at facilities.
• Verify patient personal and insurance information – coordinate pre‑op testing per insurance.
• Single point‑of‑contact for internal staff and external inquiries for all scheduled procedures.
• Schedule and/or reschedule pre‑op lab and/or other testing before procedures and surgeries if necessary.
• Contact patient to confirm procedure/surgery.
• Explain and verify proper prep instructions with patients, route to nurse if appropriate.
• Prepare all essential paperwork for referral coordinator and facilities.
• Verify daily doctor’s schedules, print and distribute to appropriate personnel.
• Maintain the strictest patient confidentiality.
• Work with billing staff to ensure all procedures are charged.
• Cover/fill‑in for co‑workers as needed.
• Track case volume and direct cases to facilities per direction of management team

• Hours: Monday - Friday; 8:00am-5:00pm
• Travel: Required to travel to Naperville as needed

Responsibilities

The compensation for this role includes a base pay range of $16.30-24.50/hour, with the actual pay determined by factors such as skills, experience, education, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. Additional compensation may be available through shift differentials, bonuses, and other incentives. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package.
