Job summary

Centerpoint - Georgetown MGA Admin, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Surgery Scheduler to join our team in Georgetown, KY. You will schedule patient testing, procedures, and admissions, obtain pre-certification numbers, and ensure accurate insurance information is entered in our scheduling systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; three years of directly related experience may be substituted for required education.
• Prior scheduling experience in a healthcare environment strongly preferred.
• Computer experience required.

Responsibilities

• Schedule all patients for ancillary, surgical, and medical testing/procedures/admissions.
• Ensure patients are not scheduled when personnel are unavailable.
• Inform patient or physician staff of any carrier that is out of network or any issue that may reduce benefits.
• Inform patient or physician staff of special instructions or testing requirements and provide pertinent documents.
• Maintain knowledge of scheduling reports for the next day to inform registration staff.
• Obtain physician orders and authorization/pre-certification.
• Enter outpatient procedures in the Order Entry System.
• Ensure consistency between scheduling and admissions modules for admitted patients.
