Position Summary
The Surgery Scheduling Coordinator functions under the direction of the Practice Manager. Performs surgery scheduling and secretarial duties of a moderately varied and complex nature, which includes prior authorizations, clinic scheduling, and knowledge of ICD 10 and CPT coding.

Required Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Proof of the highest level of education completed but not less than high school education or equivalent.
• Ability to operate computer and other office equipment.
• Ability to type with acceptable speed and accuracy.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of MGRMC staff and support
• Ability to effectively communicate in oral and written form.
• An understanding of computer systems, process design and data management.
• Must have a well-groomed, professional appearance.
• Must have the mental and physical ability to perform, with or without reasonable accommodation, the essential functions of the job.
• Ability to lift, carry, pull, & push 50 pounds.
• Language proficiency in English, with excellent written and verbal fluency.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Experience with surgery/procedure authorizations
• Previous Meditech experience or other related electronic records systems.
