The UHealth - Orthopedics, Sports Medicine at SoLé Mia offers an exciting opportunity for a Surgery Scheduler 1.

The Surgery Scheduler 1 assists with the coordination and scheduling of surgical procedures and acts as a liaison between physicians, medical staff, and other departments to ensure smooth scheduling operations. Additionally, the Surgery Scheduler works directly with patients to provide an excellent healthcare experience.

Core Job Functions

1. Schedules surgical appointments and monitors cancellations, maintaining an accurate and current daily schedule.
2. Completes necessary paperwork prior to pre-op appointments and obtains referrals and authorizations.
3. Follows up with relevant departments to ensure all pre-op results are available before the procedure.
4. Informs patients about activities during their visit and provides informational pamphlets about the surgical facility.
5. Informs patients of their financial responsibilities prior to the procedure date.
6. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures, safeguarding University assets.
