Job summary

Golden State Orthopedics & Spine is seeking a full-time Surgery Scheduler in Alabama to join our orthopedic team. You will verify eligibility, schedule surgeries and pre/post-op appointments, and coordinate preoperative testing under physician guidance.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of experience with a physician group, familiarity with EHR/EMR systems, and knowledge of medical insurances. A high school diploma is required, with college preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; college degree preferred.
• Ability to perform multiple tasks with frequent interruptions.
• Working knowledge of medical insurances.

Responsibilities

• Verify patient eligibility and coverage.
• Schedule surgeries, hospital procedures, and pre/post-op appointments.
• Discuss preoperative instructions with patients as directed by physicians.
• Obtain medical clearances, preoperative testing, labs, and EKG results as indicated.
• Other duties as assigned.

About the Role

• We are looking for a Full Time Surgery Scheduler to join our team

What You'll Do

• Verifying patient eligibility and coverage
• Scheduling surgeries, hospital procedures, and pre/post-op appointments
• Discussing preoperative instructions with the patient, as directed by the physicians
• Obtaining all requested medical clearances, preoperative testing, lab and EKG results as indicated
• Additional duties as assigned

What We're Looking For:

Education:

• High school diploma or GED certificate, college (Preferred)

Qualifications:

• Ability to preform multiple and diverse tasks with frequent interruption
• Working knowledge of medical insurances

Experience:

• 1 year experience with physician group practice preferred
• EHR/EMR experience
• Experience as an MA, LPN, or RN a plus
