Job summary

Inova Fairfax Hospital Operating Room is seeking a dedicated Surgical Technologist 3 to join the team. This is a full-time position with varied day shifts, and a sign-on bonus plus relocation options are available.

Qualifications

• Education: High School or GED.
• Experience: Two (2) years’ Surgical Technologist experience.
• Licensure: Registered Surgical Technologist in the state of VA.
• Certification: CST NBSTSA or TS-C NCCT; BLS on start.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates advanced knowledge and practice in the role of the first scrub.
• Demonstrates advanced knowledge of anatomy and can anticipate instrumentation for each step of a surgical procedure.
• Expedites the operative procedure by anticipating the needs of the surgeon.
• Demonstrates advanced knowledge of aseptic and surgical techniques.
• Preceptor role for new and experienced staff in the scrub role.
• Provides working knowledge of powered instrumentation, video equipment, microscopes, and complex instrumentation; assists in evaluating new products and equipment.

Surgical Technologist 2 Job Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications

• Experience: One (1) year Surgical Technologist experience.
• Licensure: Registered Surgical Technologist in the state of VA.
• Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) upon start.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience: Level one (1) trauma experience.

• Experience: Two (2) years’ Surgical Technologist experience.
• Licensure: Registered Surgical Technologist in the state of VA.
• Certification: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) via NBSTSA or Tech in Surgery – Certified (TS-C) via NCCT. Basic Life Support (BLS) upon start.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience: Surgical Technologist experience in Ortho, Trauma, Neuro, Robotics, Vascular preferred.
