Inova Alexandria Hospital is seeking a dedicated Surgical Technologist 3 to join the Operating Room team. This full-time day/night role covers 40 hours per week and includes a sign-on bonus and relocation assistance.

Qualifications

• Education: High School or GED.
• Experience: Two (2) years’ Surgical Technologist experience.
• Licensure: Registered Surgical Technologist in the state of VA.
• Certification: CST NBSTSA or TS-C NCCT. BLS upon start.

• Anticipates need for unscheduled procedures or unanticipated turn of events.
• Demonstrates knowledge in stressful and emergency situations.
• Assists with flow of daily operating room schedule and accepts assignments.

• Accepts responsibility for judgments and actions.
• Supports departmental goals, educational programs and QI process.
• Documents at least 40 hours of self-development with a minimum of 12 formal hours.

Surgical Technologist 3 J Ob Responsibilities

• Recognizes safety hazards and initiates appropriate preventative and corrective actions.
• Anticipates the need for unscheduled procedures or unanticipated turn of events during a surgical procedure.
• Demonstrates superior knowledge in stressful and emergency situations.
• Assists with the flow of the daily operating room schedule by readily accepting assignments/reassignments.
• Demonstrates awareness of and commitment to professional and leadership responsibilities.
• Accepts responsibility for judgments and actions.
• Supports and participates in departmental goals, educational programs, and QI process.
• Documents evidence of at least 40 hours of self-development activities with a minimum of 12 formal contact hours.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: High School or GED
• Experience: Two (2) years’ Surgical Technologist experience.
• Licensure: Registered Surgical Technologist in the state of VA
• Certification: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) via NBSTSA or Tech in Surgery – Certified (TS-C) via NCCT. Basic Life Support (BLS) upon start.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience: Surgical Technologist experience with (Ortho, Trauma, Neuro, Robotics, Vascular, Thoracic).
