Job summary

Inova Health System is looking for a dedicated Surgical Technologist 3 to join Inova Alexandria Hospital’s Operating Room team. This full-time position requires two years of surgical technology experience and relevant certifications. Responsibilities include ensuring safety during surgical procedures and supporting the operational flow of the operating room.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience as a Surgical Technologist.
• Registered Surgical Technologist in the state of VA.
• Certification as Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Tech in Surgery – Certified (TS-C).

Inova Alexandria Hospital Operating Room is seeking a dedicated Surgical Technologist 3 to join the team. This role will be Full-time Day Shift: Monday-Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm. Sign-on Bonus & relocation assistance eligible.

Surgical Technologist 3 Job Responsibilities:

• Recognizes safety hazards and initiates appropriate preventative and corrective actions.
• Anticipates the need for unscheduled procedures or unanticipated turn of events during a surgical procedure.
• Demonstrates superior knowledge in stressful and emergency situations.
• Assists with the flow of the daily operating room schedule by readily accepting assignments/reassignments.
• Demonstrates awareness of and commitment to professional and leadership responsibilities.
• Accepts responsibility for judgments and actions.
• Supports and participates in departmental goals, educational programs, and QI process.
• Documents evidence of at least 40 hours of self-development activities with a minimum of 12 formal contact hours.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: High School or GED
• Experience: Two (2) years’ Surgical Technologist experience.
• Licensure: Registered Surgical Technologist in the state of VA.
• Certification: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) via NBSTSA or Tech in Surgery – Certified (TS-C) via NCCT. Basic Life Support (BLS) upon start.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience: Surgical Technologist experience in Ortho, Trauma, Neuro, Robotics, preferred.
