Job summary

Piedmont HealthCare is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support a range of surgical specialties in the Operating Room. You will work under the direction of a Registered Nurse and assist physicians during procedures, ensuring patient safety and operating room efficiency.

The role requires graduation from a surgical technology program or an LPN program, with at least 3 years of surgical tech experience or a total of 10 years of experience in lieu of a degree, plus BCLS and CST certifications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of a Surgical Technology program or LPN program required.
• 3 years of surgical tech experience with certification required, or 10 years total experience in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate patient care by assisting the physician during surgery in the OR across multiple specialties.
• Perform technical duties and basic patient care under RN supervision.
• Serve as a clinical resource across surgical service lines and support the surgical department.

Responsibilities:

Facilitating patient care by assisting the physician during surgery in the Operating Room (OR) for multiple specialties, performing technical and some patient care duties under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Functions as a clinical specialist across numerous service specialty lines. Assumes additional responsibilities for maintaining surgical specialties as necessary and serves as a resource. Functions on a more global level and is more involved in detailed surgical endeavors related to the surgery department.

Qualifications:

Education

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required and
• Graduate of a Surgical Technology Program or LPN program Required

Work Experience

• 3 years of expereince and Surgical Tech Certification Required or
• In lieu of degree 7 years of experience can be substituted for certification for a total requirement of 10 years of Surgical Tech experience. Required

Licenses and Certifications

• BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required and
• LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse - State Licensure Current GA LPN License, if applicable Upon Hire Required or
• CST - Certified Surgical Technologist Upon Hire Required
