Job summary

Piedmont Henry Hospital in Georgia is seeking a Surgical Tech to assist physicians in the operating room across multiple specialties. The role involves technical support and patient care duties under a Registered Nurse guidance.

The ideal candidate will have a Surgical Tech certification, a GED or high school diploma, and 3 years of OR experience or 10 years total with substitutions. BCLS, LPN, and CST certifications may apply upon hire.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of a Surgical Technology Program or LPN program required.
• 3 years of experience as Surgical Tech with certification required, or 7 years experience with substitution for certification (total 10 years) required.

Responsibilities

• Facilitating patient care by assisting the physician during surgery in the Operating Room (OR) for multiple specialties.
• Performing technical duties and some patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
• Serve as a resource and maintain surgical specialties as needed within the surgery department.

Responsibilities

Facilitating patient care by assisting the physician during surgery in the Operating Room (OR) for multiple specialties, performing technical and some patient care duties under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Functions as a clinical specialist across numerous service specialty lines. Assumes additional responsibilities for maintaining surgical specialties as necessary and serves as a resource. Functions on a more global level and is more involved in detailed surgical endeavors related to the surgery department.

Qualifications

Education

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required and
• Graduate of a Surgical Technology Program or LPN program Required

Work Experience

• 3 years of expereince and Surgical Tech Certification Required or
• In lieu of degree 7 years of experience can be substituted for certification for a total requirement of 10 years of Surgical Tech experience. Required

Licenses and Certifications

• BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required and
• LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse - State Licensure Current GA LPN License, if applicable Upon Hire Required or
• CST - Certified Surgical Technologist Upon Hire Required
