Job summary

Piedmont Cartersville seeks a Surgical Tech to assist the physician during surgery in the Operating Room across multiple specialties. The role requires technical and patient-care duties under the direction of a Registered Nurse, acting as a resource within the surgical team.

Candidates should have a Surgical Technology program or LPN background, with 3 years of experience and CST/BCLS certifications, or 7 years of equivalent experience with certification substitution.

Qualifications

• Graduate of Surgical Technology or LPN program is required.
• 3 years of Surgical Tech experience with certification required, or 7 years with certification substitution.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians during surgery in the OR across multiple specialties under RN supervision.

Functions as a clinical specialist across numerous service specialty lines. Assumes additional responsibilities for maintaining surgical specialties as necessary and serves as a resource. Functions on a more global level and is more involved in detailed surgical endeavors related to the surgery department.

Education

• Graduate of a Surgical Technology Program or LPN program Required

Work Experience

• 3 years of expereince and Surgical Tech Certification Required or
• In lieu of degree 7 years of experience can be substituted for certification for a total requirement of 10 years of Surgical Tech experience. Required

Licenses and Certifications

• BCLS – Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required and
• LPN – Licensed Practical Nurse – State Licensure Current GA LPN License, if applicable Upon Hire Required or
• CST – Certified Surgical Technologist Upon Hire Required
